Martyred...!
He saw his mother.
He was covered with mud and his mother was laughing heartily. 'Oh my God Rishabh, I can't stop laughing! How did this happen?' She asked, holding her stomach tight, grinning widely.
'I... I fell in the puddle while rescuing a puppy.'
'Oh, is the puppy safe now?'
'Yes, ma.'
'Come here now.'
She pulled his cheeks lovingly. He re-lived that sensation.
He saw his father.
He had the trophy in his hand. His father was beaming with pride. He could barely contain himself and picked him up in his hands. He felt the joy in his eyes.
He saw his sister.
He brought gifts for everybody except his sister. She was upset and angry beyond measures.
The door bell rang. She opened the door and saw a brand new Vespa. The tears in her eyes weren't stopping as she looked at him smiling broadly. He could see that smile.
He saw his wife.
He was leaving for his pre-war training. He wouldn't see her for two years now, but she wasn't crying. She put tilaka on his forehead like the queens did in the ancient times when their kings lefts for the wars. She said, 'I am proud of being your wife. Victory shall accompany you back home.' and hugged him tight. He could feel the warmth of that hug.
He opened his eyes and the bullet touched his heart. He sacrificed his life for the nation, smiling.

Coward...!
The void inside me was yet to be fulfilled. Although, he had entered into my life, he still hadn't entered my soul.
I kept giving him the signs, the signs of love, but he denied their existence by mere ignorance.
I was hoping that one day, he would be brave enough to accept what he had been avoiding so far, but he turned out to be a coward.
I leaned on the shoulder of my best mate who had been helping me through the trauma of this ongoing misery, as he caressed my head with his hand.
I knew he loved me, but I kept denying the existence of his love by mere ignorance. I was a coward too...!

Squared...!
The storm was thunderous. His cottage was barely holding up. He sat on an old rocking chair. A glass of beer kept him warm. Thunder was the only source of light that night.

Nostalgia 🂥💥
She reached for the pot to get herself a drink. The sky was cloudy as she looked out of the aperture beside the pot.
As she looked at the sky, she saw a pigeon fly his way to the rear of the aperture and settling itself on a stony patch. It kept moving restlessly like parading, waiting for someone or something to happen. As she watched it for a minute, nothing changed except the colour of the sky. From cloudy blue it changed to a dark and shady grey, pointing to the arrival of a storm. Her shabby clothes were the only source of warmth in the dingy cave, with the speeding squall. She felt the chills when the first gush of cold air hit her. She once again looked out to see the pigeon. The pigeon was still tramping when another pigeon flew by its side and they both chatted for a while and then they relaxed. A shiver passed down her spine when she saw what the pigeon was waiting for. Memories flashed back into her mind to remind her, how her parents had died for her survival last monsoon. If only she wouldn't have gone wandering out in the woods with the storm coming. The haunting realisation brought back the feeling of loneness and depression. She was too young to have lost so much and so early.
A rustle at the outside brought her back to life. She turned her attention there to find her only source of happiness wagging its tail. She took her dog outside and sat down at the ledge facing the storm opening to a beautifully dangerous valley clouded with water balloons ready to burst. She looked over to the mesmerising waterfall and other people around it, at the opposite side. The water she wanted to taste and savour, which took her outside that night and put an end to her happiness. She looked at her confidant and sighed as the first drop of the rain fell down from her eye.

The Real Fighter!!!
She looked at her house one last time.. It was the place she had grown up, she had first walked, she had first talked.. And today.. She was leaving it.. She could give anything to stay in that place, but not her self respect.. She grew to know that people who seem so caring on the outside are trained by the chameleons.. That the society started from home and when her inmates didn't respect her, what could she expect from the outsiders.. Maybe this was the punishment of being molested by a Relative.. She had decided to fight.. And to leave her 'Home' was the first step..!!!
